Corn breeding project leader

As a project leader you will lead an inbred corn breeding project and could be based in Rilland in the Netherlands, Colmar in France, Greven in Germany, or Pocking in Germany.

You will work closely with the research and support functions to develop inbred lines with agronomic traits, disease resistance, and yield potential adapted to your dedicated market. This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop your career working in a multi-disciplinary international environment, helping shape breeding strategies and drive its local execution.

Main tasks:

  • In conjunction with the Head of Breeding program develop breeding direction, ideas and germplasm strategies to bring new lines and hybrids on the market and implement these strategies and manage the execution of the breeding project with your breeding teams.
  • Leverage internal as well as external R&D capabilities to optimize the breeding project using new and efficient technical innovations
  • Manage and take in charge assessment of lines, visit and score trials and nurseries. Analyze all data with appropriate tools and take breeding decisions
  • Manage and build relations with the breeding teams dedicated to the breeding project.
